My favorite French restaurant in Tokyo, but don't expect a Michelin dining experience. It is casual dining, but the taste and price performance are unmatched. If you can find better please let me know :)
This is a cozy place, with few tables, and I've never had trouble scoring a table - possibly because it's hard to find even with a map! I came to Arakicho many times and walked right by without knowing, even though I knew it was supposedly there. The secret is that it isn't on the main street - it's off on a tiny hidden sidewalk perpendicular to the main road - and that there is no visible sign until you're literally on their doorstop.
The menu is course based, and you have a few choices for a starter (I usually go with the Nice salad), main (cow cheek is delicious and tender), and dessert (chocolate cake please). Wine, tea, and coffee are available as options.
